Standard Wooden Cabana by the Kalpitiya lagoon – starting from 23.10€ p/p on bed and breakfast
Indulge in the simplicities at the standard wooden cabanas of the Ruuk Village. Fall gently into deep slumber at the end of an eventful day, as you lay down on the natural foam mattress that sits on top of the bed, sturdily crafted by the locals using Palmyra wood. Our unique wooden cabanas are designed to complement our sustainability concept and to bring you simple pleasures of local life starting with your very own private veranda, overlooking the beautiful Kalpitiya Lagoon and an attached open-air shower.
Ruuk Village cabanas are deliberately designed to exude a rustic appeal, keeping in mind families and couples that may prefer some privacy during their stay; while reconnecting with nature. If you imagine yourself on a hammock with a good read or at the open veranda of a rustic eco retreat, watching the setting sun while sipping a cup of Ceylon tea (or even something stronger), our wooden cabanas would be just right for you!
We are committed to our Go Green initiative. At present, you could recharge small electronic items like your phone or camera batteries during the daytime as we harvest the solar energy. From around 6pm to 10.30pm in the evening, we switch to the generators and we are working towards harvesting solar and wind power 100%, in the near future. Limited electricity is not a reason to do without WiFi. In the common area we offer uninterrupted 4G data connection. Our WiFi is 100% Solar powered.
