Kalpitiya Kappalady Lagoon plus Down winder

Auf diesem Tagestrip schlagt ihr zwei Fliegen mit einer Klappe ? Ihr werdet sowohl einen weiteren Traumspot kennenlernen, als auch die Chance haben auf einen unvergesslichen Downwinder auf dem indischen Ozean.
Die Kappalady Lagune liegt etwa 18km südlich von Kalpitiya – der Transfer im Tuk Tuk oder Van dauert in etwa 30min. Die Lagune ist bekannt für ihre konstanten Sideshore Winde (nur im Sommer möglich), welche sauber über den offenen Ozean in die Lagune blasen. Aus diesem Grund müssen wir auch zugeben, dass der Wind etwas konstanter einzustufen ist, als bei uns in der Kalpitiya Lagune ;) Die beiden Lagunen sind nicht sehr groß, somit hat man überall perfektes Flachwasser.

ABLAUF

• Wir packen unsere Sachen und starten gegen 10Uhr– Rückkehr ist ca. 17:30Uhr.

• Der Preis beträgt 29€ pro Person (inkl. Transport, Mittagessen, geführter Downwinder)

• Nach der Ankunft pumpen wir unsere Kites auf und genießen das Flachwasser der Lagune.

• Zum Mittag stehen verschiedene Gerichte des Resorts zur Auswahl (Spaghetti, Clubsandwich)

• Während unserer Mittagspause besprechen wir den Ablauf des Downwinders und gewährleisten das alles in einem sicheren Rahmen abläuft.

• Gegen 15Uhr beginnen wir den Downwinder Und werden bei gemütlicher Fahrweise die Kalpitiya Lagune ca. 90min später erreichen.

NOTE:

• Während des Downwinders erwarten uns sauber laufende Wellen mit Höhen von 1 bis 3m. Es gibt keine gefährlichen Riffe, so dass auch Wellen-Beginner ein perfektes Übungsrevier vorfinden werden.

• Mindestvoraussetzung für die Teilnahme ist sicheres Höhe laufen und Upwind-Bodydrag

Come with us on a daytrip which gives you the chance to have a unique experience getting to know another great kite-spot in Sri Lanka and also the unforgettable experience of a down winder on the open Indian Ocean.
Kappalady Lagoon is situated about 18km South of Kalpitiya – the transfer via Tuk/Tuk or Van will take us about 30min. The lagoon is famous for its constant side to side offshore winds from South West (only in Summer-Season) which are coming from the open ocean. We have to admit that the wind is a little more constant than in our Kalpitiya lagoon.The small size of the two lagoons ensures great flat water with no waves and wind-swell at all.

Program / Day Plan

• We will pack our gear and will leave at 10:00Hrs in the morning.

• Returning time is 17:30Hrs. The price per person is 29€ (including Transport, Lunch and Guided Down winder)

• After arrival we will get ready for the water and will spend up to 2 hours – kiting in perfect conditions in the lagoon.

• For lunch you can choose your meal from the resort-menu like Spaghetti Bolognese or Club sandwich.

• Before we start the down-winder we will have a briefing with all participants to make sure everything and everybody will be safe. Around 3pm we will start the down-winder which takes about 90 minutes*.

• During the down-winder there are various spots where the waves are running nice and smooth. Wave sizes vary from 1 to 3m (depending on forecast) with a sandy underground, which is a perfect and safe playground for all of us who want to have their first experience

• Minimum requirement to take part in this down winder trip is to be able to hold the height

VellaI Island aka „majic Spot“

Beschreibung

Dieser Spot wird von der gesamten Kiter-Welt in den Himmel gelobt - und das aus gutem Grund,Spiegelglattes Flachwasser, ablandiger, zuverlässiger und konstanter Wind zwischen 20-30 Knoten garantieren höchsten Genuss und Fahrspaß für alle Könnerstufen.

Wella Island ist eine riesige Sandbank mit unendlich viel Platz. Bis auf ein paar Fischerhütten gibt es keine Bebauung oder Hindernisse, so dass der Wind sauber über den Ozean bläst und dem Dreamspot seinem Namen alle Ehre macht. Das Boot kann für den Fall der Fälle auch für den Rescue-Service genutzt werden, so dass zu jeder Zeit auch für die Sicherheit aller Kiter gesorgt ist. Nun müsst ihr nur noch sicherstellen, dass der Kamera-Akku geladen ist und es kann los gehen.

• Wir fahren gemeinsam mit dem Fischer-Boot ca. 45 bis 60min Richtung Norden.

• DerRückweg gegen Wind und Welle auch bis zu 90min dauern kann. (Kameras bitte wasserdicht verpacken oder das Kite-Team fragen)

• Start ist 09:00Uhr am Morgen. Rückkehr gegen 17:30Uhr.

• Im Preis von 39,00€ pro Person (min. 4 Teilnehmer) sind eine Lunchbox (Fried-Rice, Egg-Rotti, Samosas und/oder Früchte) und kühle Getränke inklusive.

NOTE:

• Wir bieten auch die Möglichkeit auf Vellai Island zu übernachten, Es gibt ein paar Bilder in der Galerie.

• Wir werden somit die Möglichkeit bekommen den ganzen Tag zu kiten und einer der schönste Momente beim sonnen Untergang zu geniessen.

• Unser Team wird euch dann ein Fisch BBQ vorbereiten, und mit paar kalt gestellt Beer den Abend zu beenden.

• Morgens nach dem Frühstück kann es dann wieder losgehen, und ihr wird dann rechtzeitig zurück ins Ruuk Village fahren, definitive mit einem vollen Herz

Description of the spot

This spot in Kalpitiya is praised and loved by all kite surfers a like,among them are many wolrd class riders too. And there is a good reason for that: Flatwater as if there is no wind, with constant, reliable and strong offshore winds between 20 and 30 knots ensures pleasure for all kiter levels. Wella Island is a huge sandbank with unlimited room for kiting. There are no buildings, palm trees or other obstacles in the way, so the wind can blow really nice and constant from the open ocean. That is why Wella Island really deserves the name “Dream spot in Kalpitiya”

Programm /Day Plan

• We will take a fisher boat (who has the required licenses to transport guests ) approximately 45 to 60min up North of Ruuk Village to reach the spot.

• Coming back can take a bit longer (up to 90min), since we drive against waves and wind.. (Please make sure to pack your cameras waterproof or ask our team for help)

• We start at 9am in the morning - Return time is around 05:30pm.

• A Full Lunch Box (Fried Rice, Egg- Rotti, Samosas and/or fruits and other snacks) and cool drinks are included in the Price of 39€ per person. (Minimum 4 Persons)

NOTE:

• We also offer this trip as an overnight stay, check the gallery for some photos of such a trip

• This overnight trip allows you to kite till the sunsets in, with a great atmosphere
